looks like my prediction above was a bit off. Still waiting for the final score.

The final score: Menchville comes back in the bottom of the 7th with a 3 run walkoff homerun to win the game 9-7. The daily Press will update everyone later on the people that won the game for Menchville. From what I hear one of the transfer students new this year hit the homerun for Menchville.

Our dreams shattered again, Moe's islander hits walkoff in bottom of 7.

The word I hear is the umps figured in the final score. Do not know the extent but I am sure we will all hear it soon or later. I understand the final pitcher for Warwick was getting the job done until the umps lost the strike zone. I guess we will see.

Our dreams shattered again, Moe's islander hits walkoff in bottom of 7.Good job Raiders. Best home grown team on the Peninsula. Hard to beat an international team. Remove the transfers and I don't see much. Keep rolling RAIDERS take em out in the regionals. I know you have them out coached.

Cotton hit the home run and it cleared the fence by literally 6 inches...a home run is a home run i guess. maybe that is karma for the raiders who play on a little league field themselves. who knows. either way good game for both teams ellington had another great performance...if warwick keeps this type of play the will be district tourney champ and headed to regionals...just my opinion

You do realize that these are 17 and 18 year-old boys you're talking about, right?
Talent is talent, it's not like they're pumping steroids. Scouts are there watching them, but it also benefits other players on other teams in the long run. You should be proud it's drawing attention to the district, its not all about your school. Cotton, Nikko, and Raja aren't objects, they have names. Not the "islanders" or the "transfers." It's time they get the respect they deserve, they're good ball players.

warwick lost the game more than menchville won it.
i was not impressed with menchville at all, chrismon pitched horribly, carter had trouble hitting the ball, and there was an error or two around the infield.

#1 ranked teams find a way to win.

A win is a win and they are still undefeated. I don't think these rankings give style points.

you're right they dont give style points, but if they are the best team in the nation and they play the way they did, i feel bad for what baseball is turning into.

Menchville is a great baseball team
but I really dont think they would stack up well at all against the other top 25 in the nation
Just my opinion all season
But especially after that game

All in all, Mville is still a good team. These are still high school kids. You think they are Jesus and no 1 can make an error? Even the best teams makes errors. I bet you the other teams on the top 25 ranking list has made 3 or more errors in the feild. So don't make it seem like they should be outstanding, cuz they are not.

Maybe that is why you should stick with soccer

I will come at you how I please. You do not mind using everyone's name, so use your own as well so I can address you properly. I looked at your previous posts and it would appear as though all you do is bash soccer and some baseball with lots of bad language, shows imaturity. Just asking, what, if anything, have you ever done?

As far as the game is concerned, one homerun was given up on a pitch out...I am sure you do not know what that means so let me explain it to you...A pitch out was called in (pitch was INTENTIONALLY thrown high outside so the catcher could throw the baserunner out stealing to second). Jason, the GREAT batter he is (leading the entire PD and Bay Rivers Districts in homeruns and I am not sure where else), reached high across the plate and hit the ball. That is an AMAZING feat by Jason, few batters can do that especially with that much intensity. A few pitches on the corners not called for strikes set up the homeruns resulting in 2 runs and not 1. I would not had known he wasn't getting calls on the corners except a couple of WARWICK parents, MHS parents and other folks in stands told me. But I am not blaming the umpires, because the calls are what the calls are but if you do not get the corners called for strikes, you are automatically in a hole. My end point is he did not pitch horribly. He was not as successful as he has been in his previous 30 plus games since starting at MHS in the 8th grade, but that is why we play the game.

In addition, as far as Carter is concerned, going 1 for 2 with a double does not equal a bad outing, actually it is great. Only a non baseball person wouldn't understand that.

Good luck to you in life, negatively will get you nowhere.

thats all you had to say,
i know hes a good pitcher, arguably the best on the team, and i have nothing against him seeing as how i dont personally know him, but he had a bad game.
dont get all defensive, there will be plentyyy more criticism down the road in his career, get used to it.

Chrismon is a good pitcher
Not the next coming of Justin Verlander or Randy Johnson but solid
Everyone has a good game and a bad game
And after every bad game you get critiscm
Everyone has to deal with it and learn from it and ignore it
Overall Chrismon is a top 5 pitcher in the district
But on some days he isnt
Its jus like with everyone
Just keep this in your mind

or are people not allowed to say someone had a bad game on the baseball forums, seeing as how everyone is getting their panties in a bunch.

Um you got that statement wrong
The warwick soccer coach got upset and I was right there and if put in the same situation I would have done the same thing
KG is a great soccer player and was a leader for us that we now miss
but anyways :focus:

Regardless who wins, its gonna be a GREAT game! I dont understand all the negativity, and bashing that circulates around these teams! Isnt this highschool baseball and arent these boys supposed to be having fun? If there reading this and hearing this and these bad seed are being planted, what good is it gonna bring to anyone? This past saturday game against GHS, even though Menchville lost.....NEVER was there a negative comment screamed or hollared by either teams! Thats the way it should be!!!!!! :)

Yeah Chrismon is the man, he's a great guy and a great baseball player, heh I always thought he was gonna get drafted out of high school, though we may have to put that off until after his juniour year at ECU now, but by that time heh, I don't think anymore needs to be said. He didn't have his best game but it happens to everyone, so I don't think he deserves anymore critiscism, I've never seen him throw a ball in the dirt before that day heh. Great person though.
