I disagree with the boards call here, but yet i understand. There are two people at fault here, the ump and the coach. The ump for not warning the coach of the situation, meaning he will end the game if he doesnt get in the dug out. The coach is at fault for not leaving when told. But yes this really does hurt the lions for the playoffs. They have to win atleast two game but three will get them in. Its going to be tough for them but they should rack up a win at southhampton on monday and New kent whenever that game gets played, and also if errors arent made.

Just curious - but who is/are the "Bay Rivers District council"? Anybody know?
There's always a lot of discussion about "the District" and how things should be done or changed, but if most folks are like me, they have no idea how the district is run.
Again, I'm not faulting the decision, I'm just curious how the BRD operates.

I believe it is a VHSL rule that you are not allowed to appeal a game. It must be settled at the game, on the field. So, I dont believe it has anything to do with the BRD because its the same in the PD.

It's too bad it's one of those situations where everyone loses. It hurts the players, the coaches and the parents. Rules are rules, and I wasn't there, so I'm only going by what I've heard and read, but a warning would have been fair. There's always two sides to every story, and I'm not taking sides, I'm just saying there might have been a better solution that to draw the line in the sand so quickly.

ya know ive been thinkin bout this whole forfeit thing and gault must be a straight up ***** the proper way to have handled that would be ejecting the coach with suspension because it was the coach arguing... but to forfeit a game that was being won at that moment takes alot away from the players and they didnt do anything to deserve the forfeit.... gault must have had a hot date that night and had to find a way to end the game early
