Re: Regional Final Predictions

I think Cox will win - by how many depends on what Hickory team shows up, what their system of play is, where their line of confrontation is and how well their keeper defends against the cross.

Cox can move the ball around very well. They do a good job of making the ball do most of the work. Grassfield made it a little more difficult for them by increasing the pressure, but maintaining that kind of pressure all night is difficult, especially on a big pitch - It wears a team out.

If Hickory could put pressure on Cox's back four and keep pressure on them they should fair well. If they sit back and wait for Cox to tee it up and send nice serves into the box from all angles, it might be a long night. Cox can strike the ball long distances accurately very well.

If Hickory can get balls behind Cox’s back four they should score a few goals. Cox’s keeper is scary and I don’t mean looking. If Cox has a weak link - that’s where it is - IMO.

Re: Regional Final Predictions

I think it'll be a close game, a one goal game, with Cox winning. Cox just hasn't impressed me this regional tournament. Hickory had the easier route it seems, playing a weak Lake Taylor team and a tired Kellam team.
