Brian Darden Offers

Just read this on VA Preps "Phoebus (Hampton, VA) Class of 2011 guard Brian Darden picked up his first three scholarship offers in early July and has since added five more, including from a couple schools in the Big South Conference."

What are his 8 offers?

So nobody knows? Why is that not surprising anymore...

Also, DaShawn Stitt has put some SERIOUS work in and will be a legit SMALL FORWARD prospect at the perfect size 6'7.

Re: Brian Darden Offers

Congrats to brian, good kid and he has 8 offers, that is good news for him and his family. Now he has to focus on improving his game in different areas, because that college D1 levle is a pretty tough level to play. I watched him this past year and it would be good for him to learn more at the point guard position, because that is where he will be his position in college and one question what about the kid breon key, that young man has PD player of the year written all over him. I know he must have a lot of D1 offers, because he really played well during the season and he has had a great summer. I really like that young man's game. I also like the kid stith, humble young man and I think he can defintely do well on the college level, in the right program.

Great point, does Darden work more on proving that he can be a true point this year? There's no doubt in my mind that he can, but with the amount of scores that they have the team, can he transfer from more of the scoring point, to the Chris Paul type point? Well maybe not Chris, because there are very few of those. Say a Steve Nash type? He makes everybody around him better, yet can score on anybody and can create his own shot. What are the scouts telling him that they want to see to prove that's where he can play? In any case, it's a great situation to be in, and if he's anything like his father, i know he's more than willing to prove to the scouts that he can do what he needs. And that's not saying that he really needs to prove anything, just a thought.

Re: Brian Darden Offers

I think every year good players want to get better at every aspect in their game or they want to find a area in their game that they need to work on and all good players do, so personally I believe he can work on creating more for his players off the dribble. getting to the basket off the dribble on and the defensive side of the ball. i think he struggled defensively at times with quicker and more aggressive guards that like attacking the basket. i am not knocking the young man, i am just giving my honest opinion of some things I have seen from him this year. You made a great point about his dad though, he was a tough player in his time and he was a heck of a competitor. These are just my opinions, I could be wrong, but congrats brian(but want more, because there are so many more things to learn in this game)

I was asking myself the same question, who are the 8 schools? Well , I was listening to the local sports talk show that comes on 94.1, and the Darden topic came up. They are all mid major offers. I can't recall all of them off the top of my head, but I remember a few. Radford, College of Charleston, UNC Asheville, Liberty, Charleston Southern...ummmm, that's all I got. If anyone has a paid subscription to VA preps, you can get the entire list.

Re: Brian Darden Offers

Any D1 offer is a good one, sometimes players go to the lower D1 teams and do well and are recognized. I hope Brian makes the decision that makes him happy, he has to look at the academic side, and the system and then make his decision, because he is the only one who has to b ther 4yrs. There are alot of players who would love to have eight D1 offers no matter what school it is, Brian still has this season to play so he may even get other offers. If I was brian< i would just work on my weaknesses and do what every it will take to get my team that state championship. This is a big year for phoebus, they have won a couple of teamcamps, but with the talent they have, they should win a state championship
