Bay Rivers team third-place playoff time set ...
Poquoson will meet Lafayette at 4 p.m. Friday on Warhill's courts for a Region I boys tennis berth. The Islanders and Rams tied for third place in the Bay Rivers District regular season, thanks to a memorable comeback by Lafayette. Trailing 4-2 after singles, the Rams won all three doubles matches to beat Poquoson 5-4, leading to their ending up in a tie in the standings.
If it rains too heavily to play, the match will be rescheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday. No. 1 Jamestown and No. 2 Grafton already have sewed up regional bids.
