Angi Highlander had 21 kills and Mallory Laufer had 30 assists to guide Hampton Christian past Alliance Christian 25-9, 25-16, 25-13 in a Metro Conference tournament quarterfinal in Alliance's gym in Portsmouth. Kendra House added six kills and four aces for the Warriors (19-3).
Second-seeded Hampton Christian will face third-seeded StoneBridge at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Alliance. StoneBridge ousted Isle of Wight Academy 25-16, 18-25, 26-24, 25-20.
Top-seeded Broadwater Academy beat No. 8 Williamsburg Christian 25-20, 25-18, 25-19 and today will face Denbigh Baptist , which beat Portsmouth Christian 25-16, 25-18, 25-23.
After the semifinals, the championship also will be decided Saturday.
