Chase Mcadams (poq) Beats Joey Grainger (gb)

According to those in the know, it was a long awaited match between McAdams and Grainger. Chase domintated from the first whistle to the final buzzer. And then to find out that Chase had not been feeling well. Another instance of Chase pushing through injury and illness, and getting the job done. Other wrestlers should take their clue from him, and maybe there wouldn't have been 6 starters out for the Poquoson-Great Bridge match. Chase remains undefeated. Congtratulations Chase!

First, I applaud Chase. He wrestles hurt, sick, or on Mars, and doesn't duck anyone. A real warrior. This match was worth the price of admission. However, there wasn't any reason to wrestle an injured or ill wrestler at this match. I also know for a fact some of the "out of action" wrestlers from Poquoson would have loved to have been on the mat. The next three weeks are a little more of a priority, and I applaud Coach Casey for keeping them out, even though it was senior night and a home match, to try and get healthy. It's crunch time, and it would be nice to see the Bulls with a healthy, full, line-up through the state tournament. Other than Friday night at the Virginia Duals, the Bulls haven't been healthy or uninjured all year, and even that night, they weren't 100 percent. Oh, by the way, if they are healthy the next two weeks, look out. The injured guys are chomping to get back into action, and some of the ones who were ill, lost matches they should have won. There should be ample focus and motivation at King George next week. Setting my alarm clock now.

I'm sorry, but that isn't the way a lot of people see it. Especially when the "ill or injured" wrestlers goof around at the match behind the chairs before and after the match.

I truly hope ALL of the wrestlers are back and ready to take it to the mat beginning Saturday. They will have to be 100%, as New Kent will be ready to defend their last win from two weeks ago. And as someone mentioned in another post, the top 4 or 5 district teams will be at King George, and the Poquoson wrestlers will have to fight to take top 4 in each class to move on to Sectionals.

Good luck to ALL Poquoson wrestlers Saturday.

the idea that the other wrestlers should take a clue from chase is quite an uninformed comment. you don't know all the reasons why some of them might have not been on the mat. some things you can't just push through!

You are absolutely correct! There are those that cannot push through their issues. But that being said, again I say Good Luck to ALL Poquoson wrestlers in post season.

I know we cheer for the same team here, but I know there were kids "goofing around" who preferred to be on the mat because I talked to them personally. Again, kudos to the coach for looking at the bigger picture. Hopefully, we won't have to talk about it after next Saturday because it's either wrestle or go home.

In retrospect I should never have posted the earlier comments about the Poquoson starters who were off the mat Friday night. Unfortunately, once printed they cannot be erased. I apologize to the wrestlers, coaches, parents and fans for those comments. It is so easy to coach and, yes, wrestle from the stands, but we don't know the full story, or feel the pain, unless we walk in their shoes.

I look forward to Saturday's tournament. The Poquoson team will show up in force, and blow through that tournament. I am a firm believer that every one of the Poquoson wrestlers will advance to Regionals.

I encourage every fan to go to Sectionals on Saturday. It will be well worth the trip. We need to fill up the stands.
