York on FIRE!
York finally mustered the confidence to beat, after all these years, the reigning team of Grafton, with a team of ladies that just don't give up. A couple girls played through their sickness for their teammates because they knew that this was the year that all their previous year's of hard work were going to pay off. Nothing was going to stand in their way of a victory.
Last night they continued to move forward with yet another win over Warhill even with two of their starting players out with injuries and a completely new lineup to work around.
York has a slew of standout players who are laying down kills, digs, blocks and aces at dizzying speeds! Senior Amy Grinnell and Junior Ashley Mandrick work together to maintain the integrity of the setting offense and defense with high percentage serving records. Junior middles; Ashley Lytle and Aubrey Brockmiller are a tall force to be reckoned with on the net for both their hitting and blocking ability. Middle, Lia Batchelor before her ankle injury game two was laying down impressive stats in blocking anis hitting. Brockmiller is one of the top servers as well. Outside hitters; senior, Kala Prosper and freshman, Sydney Sumner turn kills and serving into a leisurely past time. All this backed-up by senior Kimmy Ashe and junior Jenna Kinney for a dynamic duo of defensive specialists. To round out this team you have new comers Kamrun Comer, middle hitter, and Liz Quamme defensive specialist/outside hitter. What a phenomenal team of athletes! But I do admit, I am biased. :-)
