Malcom Doyal scored 13 points and John Samaha had 11 as Walsingham Academy defeated Isle of Wight Academy 53-35 in the first round of the Peninsula Catholic Holiday Classic. The Trojans (6-3) used a 22-7 second-quarter advantage to pull away from Isle of Wight, which was paced by Andy Webb with eight points. Walsingham will play on Friday at 5:30 in the semifinals. Isle of Wight will play a consolation game at 3:45.
