Re: Busing in Newport News

Schools in the country side put up with this kinda stuff with students having to find a ride to school that are 15+ miles away. The good thing is that kids here have the City buses and friends in range that can give em rides, sometimes a bike would work too.

Re: Busing in Newport News

ooh stop cry'n if the kids want to play they'll find a way period i'm from the country i wish we had buses back then but we found a way place ownership on the coaches as well they want the kids to play pick them up... i do in my football program...the coaches can set up a ride program which is far better than slow buses coaches can set up fund risers to recover the fuel cost i see H.S. cheerleaders do fund risers all the time plus it cost hundreds of thousands to run buses extra man hours and the extra it cost to run the buses extra miles driver fatigue comes into play as well and i don't want a tired driver, driving 65000 pounds of weight on the road that equals accidents and possibly deaths things i know as a former transportation manager by the way diesel fuel deliveries ain't cheap
