Phoebus would eventually fall back closer to the BRD teams if they were pushed down to BRD. I don't think alot of the potential D1 talent would stay there. Just my opinion, but I think you'd see them transfer over to some of the upper tier PD teams. You know you have some very valid points as far as kids might wanting to transfer to play against deeper opponents (notice i didn't say better). However most of those kids that play on that team, and have played on that team in the past, grew up playing on the same rec league teams, the same playgrounds, and playing at North Phoebus rec center. That's what they know. So while you might get a couple of kids to trickle to other schools, I think as long as they continued to win, and the schools kept coming to recruit them, there would be no reason to leave. Because believe me, their out of district game wouldn't be against a Franklin or a Surry (no disrespect), it would be against a Oscar Smith, a Salem, a Ocean Lakes, and a Hampton. Just to show that they haven't lost anything. That's just my opinion....

This has become a yearly conversation, every August it seems. I dont believe the upper tier BRD teams could compete with Pheobus, Bethel or Hampton. Possibly a few PD teams after that but not even sure about that Dont think it has anything to do with lack of talent in the BRD either. Upper PD teams have more diverse offences, they can run and throw at will were as BRD teams only throw if neccesary. I know there have been exceptions but even those teams in the past didn't do it reguarly or on consitent basis, night in night out. Other reason I believe is line play. BRD teams just dont have the big guys like the PD. Most of our guys are 220 to 230 lbs that use good technics and work well together but when facing some of these PD d lines thats only going to carry you so far. Eventually size and strength are going to take over. Put those two things together and I just think it would make to tough to put up points. But thats just my opinion.

Now a team of BRD allstars vs Pheobus, depending on the year that might be interesting.

True, but IP may have a point. Hard to say. But just looking back a year or two, say Phoebus was in the BRD, obviosly they would dominate, but take say Davenport. If he had been playing against AA schools would he have had the same type of exposure he had at Phoebus playing AAA. I know he was looking for a school that would play him on the line vs LB. Not sure he would have had that option playing AA. His hieght did not make him a A typical d line recruit. Not a knock, kids a freak of nature, but if the offers started slowing down because of AA ball then I think you would see more transfering than you think. Dont know, just my opinion, intersting topic though. Could be a little of both.

Great point...Put the Edwards kid on a Phoebus or Hampton squad, and he's probably sitting back looking at VT UVA, South Carolina, versus 1AA schools....Bottom line is that kid can play. I think some kids get shorted because of the AA stigma. but that's a great point

yeah no brd team could hang with them.....yeah we have could brd teams but the closet score would have been a loss by at least 28 pts

i think pretty much the consensus is that a single BRD team would lose but ann all-star team may have a chance but this will never happen

I bet yall dont know Phoebus is a AA school considering the numbers so just imagine Phoebus should be playing against these BRD teams......No BRD team could have hung anywhere close to that 08 Phoebus team...ur offense wouldnt be able to move the ball, which would lead to either defensive touchdowns or returned punts and the offense would score so quick because Phoebus was flat out too strong..so this debate is not even debateable....Child Please hahahahahaha
