You can say the same thing about Norcom. They have had the talent to get there every year since 2003, but because of lack of good coaching they didn't. I dispute the opinion that they have the better team. Most seem to think that as far as a match-up they are rather even.

Side-note: I think Phoebus is better then them!

Haven't seen Petersburg play, so I can't make a real prediction. I will be there tomorrow night to see it though.

You can call Petersburg whatever you want, but you will not call them State Champions. They tried their best to use their bullying tactics to get Norcom players out of the game and all it did is made Norcom want to win even more. I saw on the other sites how people continue to make excuses for them. Fact is, they were up 10 with 6 minutes to go and everybody had ridden Norcom off.
They beat Petersburg with three starters fouling out, including Dorian Finney-Smith.
Even before the game, nobody give them a shot and now they are the
2010 VIRGINIA HIGH SCHOOL STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS!
GREAT JOB!
I am going to leave yall with this prediction before the game:
Norcom guard DeCarlos Anderson made a promise following the Greyhounds’ win in the Group AAA state semifinal game.
He told anyone who would listen to him that Norcom would bring home a state title to the Greyhound fans.
“We will not fail them,” he said. “I promise you that, we will bring it home.”

Honestly Peterburg was very overrated from the looks of it...that Spain kid didn't belong on the court he couldn't even keep up with the game like somebody wrote on VA Preps Spain made the game 5 on 4 in Norcom's advantage.

One of the biggest differences is that Norcom was bigger and more athletic than they were. People keep saying if you run with them, you will not win. Norcom run more than them and in return, they couldn’t keep up.
I’ve been telling people all year long that Norcom was the best team and nobody, including Petersburg could beat them if they played their hardest and the proved that. I don’t think they are overrated, I just don’t think they played anybody really.
You can’t compare the Eastern Region teams to those in other Regions. I still think Phoebus was the best team that Norcom faced all year.
