I think Gloucester will take the crown this year. As for the second team in the Peninsula. Probably up for grabs. My bet is Menchville.

Re: Who will take the Peninsula District crown?

Gloucester
Menchville
Woodside

Doesn't look like Kecoughtan will be even in the top three this season based on some of the results so far such as the garvey tourney. example.... they lost by 3 to poquoson, Woodside tied poq and so did Menchville, Gloucester has one win and one loss to poq so far. Other camparisons share equals results as well. I think Menchville and Woodside will be the two teams with the potential to beat Gloucester this year. I stand with Gloucester then a coin toss between Menchville and Woodside.

Menchville/Woodside
Gloucester

How could Gloucester beat Woodside and Menchville if they lost to Poq? Also they only beat Phoebus 2-0. I know Woodside and Menchville play this Friday. That will be the game of the season. All three teams are pretty strong this year with big names at all of them.

You can't be seriously judging the three teams from their play from an invitational?

The Bay Rivers district is probably better than the Peninsula district as a whole in both boys and girls sides.

Re: Who will take the Peninsula District crown?

@ soccerallday.... Gloucester has played Poq two times. They won one game and lost the other. Very close games. That basically makes it a coin toss between them. Neither Menchville or Woodside beat Poq, both tied. I know it is going to be close which is why I said Menchville and Woodside will be the two teams capable of beating Gloucester this year.

I know you can't judge based on one game and i looked at some of the other game results. more examples... Menchville lost to Jamestown 4-0, Gloucester lost to Jamestwon by only one goal 1-0 in the finals at the garvey. Woodside only beat Bruton by one goal. Gloucester beat Bruton 7-3. Those seem to be the only apples to apples comparisons out there right now. Oh and on a side note.... Pheobus is no joke this year BTW! They have ALOT of speed on both offense and defense. If they can get organized and learn to pass and kept possession, they will be a really good team. Right now they pretty much play kick and run soccer and it works for them because they are super fast!!
