Re: Travel Ball vs. High School Ball
To respond to a previous post, no one has to go to Florida to be seen.
For example this weekend, Stephanie Coates (Gloucester class of 2008) got the win for UVA. Leta Bressin (Gloucester 2010) and Amy Putnam (Poquoson 2010) saw their first action at the college level at Longwood. Catherine Clavin (Poquoson 2010) saw her first action with JMU. Tiffany Webb (Smithfield 2010) started her college career with George Mason while Jessica Davis (Jamestown 2010) did the same with St. Francis PA. In Lynchburg, Katie Bruce (Lafayette 2007), Taylor Walker (Poquoson 2008) and Mel Tenney (Tabb 2010) all played important roles for Lynchburg College. Just to name a few. |

Re: Travel Ball vs. High School Ball
Hey Williamsburg Starz what ever happened to Jenny Carrol who was on the fall roster for VT and Morgan Hayes who played for Lynchburg? They were like your top players for you and all of sudden they are not playing!

Re: Travel Ball vs. High School Ball
They have simply decided to go down different paths. All we can do is try to help student athletes pursue what they perceive to be their goals for college athletics. If they decide to change their goals months or years later, that is up to them I guess.
Unfortunately it happens to a lot of female student athletes, particularly when there is little or no scholarship money involved like a DIII program or DI walk ons. For example, 16 of the 23 players on CNU's current roster are Fresh or Soph. because not all of those 16 will still be playing when they are Jr. and Sr. This is not a knock on CNU at all (Coach Parr runs a very successful program), it's just the nature of the beast. Every year we send players onto college ball and I hope they all play for all four years. However, this doesn't always happen. Last edited by Williamsburg Starz : 02-22-2011 at 06:09 PM. |
