What are you thoughts for 1st & 2nd Team All District? POY?

Darnell ware from khs hit over 400 cody seals from hhs hit 300, darnell hit 4 bombs off the top pichers, chrismon, mays, hux, beasley and cody seals hit 0, cody had more errors, and darnell was more important to his team, any one have any other thoughts on the all district teams?

If it's anything like past history, it's a joke anyway so who cares.

Last year Hampton finished 7th but had 8 kids 1st and 2nd team (how do you have that many quality kids and not do better than 7th? Bad coaching? Unmotivated kids? Doesn't make sense to me!). This year since they are top of the standings, my guess is they'll have all 9 on 1st team (at least). It's a popularity contest with actual performance having no bearing. Coaches apparently don't take it too seriously (or maybe some other coaches have incriminating pictures of them). Too bad because I'm sure some really quality players will get overlooked for the popular ones, even if they haven't performed on the field as well. Proof will be if Ware doesn't get on 1st team. That play against Hampton in the bottom of the 6th alone should get it for him (watch the video -- there's actual proof). That was as good as anything you'll see in any division of play (not to mention Holbrooks who pitched nine innings giving up only 2 unearned runs to the top team in the district).

Just saw the list. Wow. Menchville (and Woodside) with only two 1sts and a 2nd while Hampton has five 1sts and a 2nd along with the POY. Sure would be embarrassing if Menchville won tonight with their cobbled-together team of role players. Talk about pressure on Hampton.

Others: Gloucester 1 and 1, Kecoughtan 0 and 4, Bethel 1 and 1, Warwick 1 and 2, and Denbigh 0 and 1.

Let's see ... Menchville has a #1 team, scored more runs this season than any of the other team in the district, has 9 experienced seniors, one Virginia Tech recruit .... one CNU recruit, yet only received 2 - 1st. team picks & 1 - 2nd. team pick ? Where was Menchville's coach when Hampton was grabbing up 5 first team picks? Isn't the coach the one that is suppose to lobby for his players? Maybe Forbes tried to nominate himself ... rather than the players.
