Re: Sept. 7 - Maury-Woodside

Those of you who saw the Woodside Denbigh game I'm sure are aware that the headline could have been much different. It could have said "Woodside unveils its latest pair of 1,000 rushers." Najee Curry had over 100 yards in only 1 half on only 8 carries. I saw that he was hurt, anyone know what or how serious??

Why are all these Norfolk teams playing 2 PD teams this year?

It used to be that the Eastern District schools could play both Peninsula and Southeastern District schools for their non-conference games. However, with the addition of Grassfield in the SE, that cut out one non-conference game for each school. And for whatever reason, none of the Peninsula teams are playing any Southeastern teams for their non-conference game, so that means more Eastern-Peninsula games.

Meanwhile, Eastern District schools can have three out-of-district games a year, since the district only has eight schools. So all the Eastern teams can play two PD teams this year, and the third one's taken up by a SE team, which now only has one out-of-district game.

Then there's the Beach District, which has so many teams there's no room for out-of-district contests.
