HRVarsity.com South Hampton Roads Athlete of the Week: Green Run's Rahmel Glover
By JEFF CUNNINGHAM | jcunningham@hrvarsity.com
Rahmel Glover didn't spend much time at Green Run football practice this past August, spending most of his summer working at a local KFC.
But you might not know it the way he -- and the rest of the Stallions -- have played. Glover, a dual-threat quarterback, has led Green Run to a surprising 3-0 start, and his 221 yards Friday night helped the Stallions beat Landstown 40-14 ... and earned him HRVarsity.com South Hampton Roads Athlete of the Week honors.
Glover had 84 rushing yards to go along with 137 passing yards and a combined four touchdowns.
"We designed some runs for (Glover)," first-year coach Shawn Wilson said. "Let him get a couple carries in. He runs so much that the defense comes in to stop the run and we're able to pass ... he really hasn't had to throw it yet, which helps us out."
From frying chicken to burning Beach defenses ... Rahmel Glover is HRVarsity.com's South Hampton Roads Athlete of the Week.
