Great Bridge quarterback Casey Turner threw for six touchdowns in his game against Western Branch Friday night. Lake Taylor signal-caller Lenny Paiva only accounted for five (only being a comparative word), but he diversified his portfolio a bit more.
Paiva threw for two scores, needing only seven pass attempts to rack up 102 yards. He caught two more from backup QB Jarred Battle, who threw for 93 yards.
On defense, Paiva took an interception 14 yards for the pick-six, and on special teams he ran back an I.C. Norcom kickoff 80 yards to set up a Jay Zardee field goal.
So directly or otherwise, Paiva accounted for 38 of his team's 47 points.
Paiva's performance helped Lake Taylor score 34 unanswered points as the Titans beat the Greyhounds 47-12 to remain unbeaten. Paiva's Titans are trying to become the first Eastern District team to finish the regular season since 1992, when Lake Taylor last accomplished the feat.
