Re: Gloucester's Coates commits to Virginia

I will admit that I'm not up to speed on NCAA rules that govern Softball recruiting. But in football - ride offers are allowed during the junior year. Is Coates a Jr? What are the softball rules? Would be interesting to know......so are you ALSO snoclaf? You answered my last post as if you were......do we have an alter ego amongst us?

Re: Gloucester's Coates commits to Virginia

No I am not snoclaf.... I do know in Softball - girls CAN NOT be contacted until after July 1st in a division 1 school.......period.
Division 2 can be contacted in June. Hey I am happy for Coats, but please do not make it a sound as she is getting a ride for softball when I know it would not be legal and I do not think UVA would do anything to up-set the NCAA ruling.

Gee Packer Pacer it actually appears you think you are the best sliced bread, or ham should I say... You shold probably reread all the posts, acually I don't say a lot. And no where I I been to ugly or critical. So now that you see the rules on NCAA rules I would expect an apology.

Re: Gloucester's Coates commits to Virginia

I wish people would quit making these posts about themeselves instead of the issue at hand. What this post was meant to do was to announce and congratulate Stephanie Coates' decision to UVA, one of the top public schools in the COUNTRY. NCAA ruling means that this is not an athletic ride AS OF YET. That's not to say that come June or July we won't be reading another editorial. We all know how sports work. Do you really think Coates would commit to a school that didn't want her for her softball capabilities. Rise balls generate strikeouts and flyouts, what more do you want from a pitcher. Again, congratulations to Stephanie Coates. We look forward to seeing the things you'll do.

Re: Gloucester's Coates commits to Virginia

I found out my answer this evening on the deal with snoclaf - that's all I'm gonna say about that. Yes the Smithfield crew is very familiar with the Revolution - some more than others......
No, no apologies are due from me.....I haven't had any of my posts deleted or edited from any of the admin's on this board.....check yourself - No I am not the best thing since spiral cut ham, if you must know snoclaf but I can and will dish out GOOD posts to area athletes when it is deserved.
Steph - if you're reading this - keep doing what you're doing - obviously someone knows it's good!

Re: Gloucester's Coates commits to Virginia

Congratulations to Stephanie Coates!!!! When all is said and done the only thing we as fans will be able to say is how proud we are of you representing the Hampton Roads area. All this other stuff I have been reading is nonsense and pointless bickering. I personally wish you all the best in your continuing endeavors playing a game you obviously love. Good Luck!
