Boys basketball: HRA, Cape Henry play for TCIS title

When Hampton Roads Academy’s boys basketball team faces Cape Henry tonight in Virginia Beach, the winner will become the only undefeated team in the Tidewater Conference with one regular-season game remaining.

Both teams are 7-0 in the league.

The focal point of Cape Henry’s offense is Damiane Ryans. He’s the second-leading scorer in the in the conference with a 20.5 average. Terrell Allen follows him with a 13.5 average. (LATE EDIT: Ryans is out for the season with an injury).

HRA is led by its front line of Calvin Kibwe (18.9), Lucas Pervan (15.5) and Ovie Soko (15.5).

After tonight, HRA closes its regular season against Walsingham Academy (4-3) on Friday. Cape Henry plays at Norfolk Academy (4-4) on Thursday.
