Does anyone care to discuss this conference this year?

Re: Metro Conference '08

i know DBCS is always a seriously laughed at team, but this year, look for them to bring some heat.
With All-Conference Players Like Daniel White, and Justin Wynings on top they could be a good force, if not just a team to mess with playoff contenders.

but does anyone know how HCs looking this year?

HC is very strong. I think they are likely to win the conference.

Re: Metro Conference '08

Of course I am partial to Alliance. Even thought they are considered Div III, they are returning 8 of their 9 starters from last year's team that took second in the state tournament. They are also returning 3 All State team members and 1 Second team All State selection. 3 starters have already signed with colleges and 2 or 3 more are expected by the end of the season. Look for big things from them in the Metro this year. Of course they will be challenged in the conference by the Div II schools like Hampton, Denbigh, and Atlantic Shores.

Re: Metro Conference '08

Isle of Wight returns most of their players from last year, with the BIG exception of pitcher Kirk Smith. Last year's JV phenom who was supposed to fill in Smith's spot in the rotation transferred to Smithfield.

They still have Brice Sears, but he obviously can't pitch every game.

Smith is also a big offensive loss, but he'll be easier to replace in that capacity than as a pitcher.

Also, StoneBridge isn't playing varsity baseball, so it's a 12-game conference schedule this year.

Look for Hampton Christian's Freshman "Jake Cave" to make an even bigger impact this year than he did last year as an 8th grader! also Bennet,Fritz,Barber,Philips, and the rest of there phenomenal team!

look for them to be top contenders in the state tourney!
