BRD Lacrosse

Lacrosse is growing in this area with Grafton and Tabb fielding club teams. Lafayette has a team in the VHSL.

I watched Grafton & Tabb play to a tie on Sunday in a scrimmage and then both teams blew away Hickory from Chesapeake.

Grafton beat Menchville 12-6 on Wednesday afternoon at Grafton. Last year Menchville beat Grafton 21-0. What was really good was that 11 of the 12 goals were scored by sophomores!

It's a great game for speed and contact, although I admit I am still not clear on the rules.

Both Grafton and Tabb play hard so it's fun to watch.

Re: BRD Lacrosse

Tabb lost to Maury 19-18 in double overtime. Maury defending league champs. Most exciting match I've ever seen.

Tabb and Grafton should both be near the top of the standings by years end. A far cry from last years entree into league.

I question if Laffayette has VHSL approval. A group of willysburgh kids and some good York county kids play on a "travel " team

I saw Lafayette listed as a VHSL AA team on www.laxpower.com and all the other teams listed as clubs. That's my info source.
