Bethel Soccer

After watching Bethel play a few times this year I firmly believe they have a shot at beating both mhs and whs. This team can finish as low as #1 but no higher than #3. I dont even like Bethel soccer but this team can play.

Re: Bethel Soccer

I haven't seen them play yet, but if they play both of them on a smaller field....I give the edge to Bethel b/c anything can happen in smaller spaces. Plus, fields like Darling Stadium really neutralize skill.

Re: Bethel Soccer

Nope, bethel will not win the PD..
kick ball only takes you so far, and better coaches can neutralize Bethel's limited game plan...Denbigh, Menchville, Kecoughtan, and now Warwick have coaches who can game plan to eliminate bethels kick and hustle game....

they do have a shot at third though, with a win in the games against KHS and Gloucester...

Re: Bethel Soccer

I am going to have to disagree on that. Now this is my OPINION and not a pot shot at BHS.

In order for them to finish 3rd they are going to have to go at least 6-3. I can't see them being any better than 5-4.

Their right back is suspect and Hopkins is going to eat him up(by the way, I am not a WoHS fan). Against York he was beat badly 3-4 times the second half alone and had to foul to make up for it. On one he could have received a red for denying a goal but was lucky that he had another defender behind him and the ref saw it.

KHS may be off right now but I believe they play at the end of the season and Coach will have them playing KHS style ball by then. Everyone keeps knocking KHS but I have seen them play some good ball. They just need to do it for 90 minutes. OOPS, sorry, high school ball-80 minutes. I will never understand that.

PHS is playing tough. That will be a good game. I have to go with PHS because where they lack skill they have intensity and heart. Sometimes to much (Cole). PHS lost to Tabb but I think they played them better than BHS. PHS gave up to late goals (one with an injured keeper in extra time) and BHS's goal were weak (yes, I know, a goal is still a goal). You have to admit that a shot from 25-30 out that bounces twice and goes under the keeper is 60% luck and the other was just a poor clear by the D that bounces to your forwards feet for a 1 on 1.

Again this is just my opinion and I wish them all the luck. Instead reposting a negative response to this, make me eat my words at the end of the season. I am man enough to admit I am wrong.

Re: Bethel Soccer

It is hard to get in a rythtym with an opposing team when they are just playing kickball but on a big field it can be stopped. However on Bethels small field anything can happen so that will make them dangerous. I do think they will be a tough team but I see them finishing 4th. I agree the kecoughtan bethel game will be a good match

Re: Bethel Soccer

direct soccer is the way liverpool plays with crouch up top, bethel plays the parks and rec style, no disrespect intended but the times i have seen them this year they can not string together three passes, and they usually knock it wide and then knock it again toward the frame....

4th or 5th for bethel, i just can not see them sweeping KHS-GHS-and DHS...
