Story: Hampton's Graves signs

Hampton's Graves signs with Virginia Tech

Daily Press

Doug Graves, Hampton High’s starting fullback the last two seasons, has signed with Virginia State.

Graves, 5-foot-11 and 225 pounds, rushed for 224 yards on 45 carries last season. He also scored two touchdowns.

“He’s a very strong runner and a very good blocker,” Hampton coach Mike Smith said. “He did a good job for us. I think they have one fullback back, so he can come in and compete for a position.”

He signed with Virginia State. A good school for him and a great opportunity for a wonderful young man.
