Re: Boys soccer: WOODSIDE 4, PHOEBUS 2
Woodside got called for like 20 offsides and only a handful were actually offsides. They also had 2 or 3 goals taken off because of horrible offsides calls... The score is not indicative of how well woodside played in the second half. Shots were like 20-3 woodside, too bad they didn't get more than 4 goals.

Re: Boys soccer: WOODSIDE 4, PHOEBUS 2
A win is a win. We could sit and complain about the calls and non-calls all day, but when the W is already in the books,I think it's pointless to ***** and moan. I must say, I'm not sure why Phoebus' boys varsity has to play on the practice field. It's probably the shortest and bumpiest I've seen in a long time. The field that the girls played on was immeasurably better. The wind became a pretty huge factor, due to the field dimensions.

Re: Boys soccer: WOODSIDE 4, PHOEBUS 2
Yaa, I saw most of the game. There were 2 goals taken back..one for Phoebus and the other for Woodside (that I know of), not 3 or 4 for Woodside. It was a nice game. Once again Phoebus just doesn't show what they've really got. Not much to say about the game other than it wasn't a bad one really..both teams had some control, both teams had some shots..I will say, Woodside is plain out fast up top.

Re: Boys soccer: WOODSIDE 4, PHOEBUS 2
I agree, it was a good game on both sides. I don't think I've ever seen so many shots hit off of the posts in a single match. Phoebus has some speed in the midfield and up top, just doesn't seem to have the confidence to strike balls from very far away (with the exception of whoever scored their second goal, which was a long, low shot). Their goalie was solid in the air, as well. A few bobbles, but overall, he had everything above the waist handled.

Re: Boys soccer: WOODSIDE 4, PHOEBUS 2
Haha, yea! I saw from where I was watching the tennis matches like 4 or 5 shots hit the post on that side per half I think lol. I know I saw one guy hit it to the post, then back to the post lol. Our keeper has it..it's just our defense that lacks. You guys could almost just run through the defense without being hindered at all..I often get yelled at for failing math now by the keeper. haha.
Oh and on taking shots from far out...it's the truth..we really have like 2 or 3 guys who take shots from out..but not that often. We need to work on that. Our second goal was scored by freshman Chris Cooke. |
