Re: Lafayette & BRD

Lafayette keep up the hard work your team helps make the BRD as competitive as it is. Smithfield keep your heads up --- we are entering the second half and it's not to late to turn the bats on to make a run at district for playoffs.

I am not sure if this is always been the case or if BRD is particularily strong this year? Someone that has been around both districts awhile care to weigh in?
For someone that has been around both districts, you obviously haven't a clue. I don't remember seeing you around very many PD games either. You seem to know a few of the players through travel ball, but the players you mention in the PD in your post have to tell you the caliber of play in the PD. I'll bet any of the girls you named in the PD could starter on any BRD teams. Their has always been couriousty between both districts and you seem to can make things happen so how about you make it happen. "PD vs BRD" cause I know York scrimmaged GHS and couldn't hit Coates and Tabb scrimmaged Warwick and couldn't hit Byrd so you be the judge, but be fair about it. I know Aleander struggled in a scrimmage against Tabb, but South Hampton couldn't beat Kecoughtan on KHS worst day. That's an insult. Which team would Smithfield like to play? GHS, WaHS or WoHS... take your pick?

Re: Lafayette & BRD

Once Southampton Drops from our district I think we all will get the wish for PD and BRD to have non district match ups. Until that time it will be only speculation as to who would win. Maybe next year Smithfield could scrimmage any of those teams you mentioned? It wouldn't matter would be good for both teams.

Unfortunately I think that is how it would have to be, until again the BRD looses a team or two.

All in All it makes for interesting debate and posts. Actually great to see such pride in local schools especially around the sport of softball.

It is better to remain quiet and have people think you are ignorant than to TYPE and prove them RIGHT.

Re: Lafayette & BRD

im the head coach at Warhill and i appreciate the kind words but to be honest our team has a long way to go with 7 freshman and 2 sophomores and with maybe 4 of them with any experience we will find it hard to beat anyone right now dont get me wrong we are getting better and down the road i think we will be fine but we need to learn to play as a team and get to know each other to get better as for tyhe BRD VS PD from what ive seen of our district and heard of the PD i think there would be some great matchups i can only hope we will all get to see those should be some great softball played

Re: Lafayette & BRD

i will say that Lafayette has alot of talent and shouldnt ever be taken lightly they have a great coach in Tom Bunn and alot of hard working kids that play hard as do all BRD and PD districts i as a coach i always have believed that if you dontcome to play anyone and i mean anyone can knock you off at anytime so with that said good luck to all the BRD and PD teams the rest of the year
