Menchville's girls soccer team defeated Kecoughtan 2-1 in overtime Friday on two very similar goals. Outside midfielder Cassie Kuykendall scored both goals for the Monarchs against her team's Peninsula District rival.

In overtime, Kuykendall was taken down hard on a tackle to the far left of the goal, but got up and immediately turned on a shot that looped up and in for the game-winner.

"Both were kicked over the goalkeeper's head and almost in the same place in the goal — almost like a replay," said Menchville coach Dave Giunti, who also credited his goalkeeper Leah Schaffer for her efforts in the match.
