Girls tennis: Former IWA student Pope on winning AA doubles team

From Radford sports information ...

James Wood’s duo of Kari Pope and Headley Wilson claimed the Group AA Girls’ Tennis championship Saturday afternoon at Radford University’s Dedmon Center Courts.

Pope and Wilson won 6-2, 6-1 over Northside’s Rachel Fertitta and Ashley Masterson to win their first state championship.

Pope, a junior left-hander, grew up in Windsor and formerly attended Isle of Wight Academy before moving to Winchester.
