Despite two touchdown passes from Lewis Redman to Jamar Carter, King William (0-2) couldn't overcome a big deficit against Essex in Tappahannock and lost 34-12 Thursday night.
Johnny Thomas completed 3 of 7 passes for 89 yards, including two touchdowns, for Essex. He also kicked four extra points and punted.
James Hence led Essex with 119 rushing yards, including a 41-yard touchdown that stopped a King William comeback and boosted the Trojans' lead to 27-14.
