Question: Can anyone tell me if there has been any team in the district that went 9-0 without anyone ever scoring on them??? The non-district game doesn't count!! Just curious to know?

I don't think anyone has ever run the table in district games. I know Lafayette, which it was AAA state runner-up in 73, didn't allow many regular-season points. And a couple of Hampton's defenses were very strong.

If you want to go waaaaay back to the 40s, Huntington HS went a couple of years without giving up a point. I have the records somewhere, but it would take some time to locate.

Great question, Phoebus2B. Our records aren't nearly as complete as we'd like, but from what I've been able to gather, it appears the answer is no.

We have a program from a ceremony in which Hamtpon marked its 600th all-time win in 1995. It has every result from the previous 96 years (except, for some reason, 1978).

There were two or three years in which the Crabbers shut out everybody in the district except two teams. But that was as close as it got. Kecoughtan always seemed to be involved in breaking that shutout streak.

We don't have the all-time results for other schools, but Hampton is certainly the most likely team to have done this.

Coach Smith gave Kecoughtan that score in the 99' game. We were beating KHS 69-0 halfway through the 4th Quarter (no running clock back then)... Kecoughtan scored with less than a minute and a half left on the clock. I look directly at Coach Smith when he saw that they scored and he didn't care one bit which was very very unusual.... Till this day I beleive he gave that shutout away!
