Field hockey: WALSINGHAM 3, CARLISLE 0
Cameron Smith had a goal and an assist Saturday as Walsingham Academy shut out Carlisle of Martinsville 3-0.
The Trojans, ranked first among state Division II independents, improved to 10-3 behind Regan Murphy's 14th goal of the season and a first-half goal by Britta Nally.
Mary Walker and Meredith Tobias added assists, and Sydney Encarnacion and Arial Nally shared the shutout.
Carlisle is ranked third in Division II.
