Jamestown Boys XC
A casual observation of the Jamestown Boys XC team, its season strategy, and expectations going into the post-season: Bottom Line Up Front - Anything short of a State Title will be a disappointing failure of the team, the coach, and the season-long strategy which saw the top five Jamestown boys team runners as no-shows in every mid-week BRD dual/tri meet throughout the season. For the Jamestown boys, BRD meets don't mean very much...
Colley is running well, but he didn't win at either Maymont or Manhattan...a disappointment for BRD XC fans for sure. And while the boys team did win Maymont, it disappointed fans this weekend at Manhattan finishing 4th with the #5 runner Graham Schlickenmeyer posting a PR at the 4000M distance (his only race at this distance), but coming 110th out of 206 in the field. Let's continue to root for the Jamestown boys...they stand our best chance at a state title this year. Good luck and keep up the training schedules. Last edited by Fan4All : 10-12-2008 at 08:46 PM. |

Re: Jamestown Boys XC
We finally got to see his royal highness, Prince Andrew Colley today at Eastern State...and he IS fast. It would have been nice if he and his court would have shown themselves at BRD mid-week meets...oh well...
Good luck to the JHS kids (boys and girls) at the next level...we saw some pretty good talent today at the BRD District meet. |

Re: Jamestown Boys XC
I do agree, Colley is dirty. But you have to give some credit to Junior Colin Mearns and Senior John Holt for finishing 4th and 6th, respectivly. The team is overall just nasty. Congrats guys!
