Chaz Norman, a senior playing in his second year for Hampton Christian, scored 31 points and broke 1,000 in a Warriors uniform, but his team lost 70-59 to visiting Evangel Christian of Richmond.
Norman reached the milestone in the first quarter and now has 1,027 points. His team led 56-54 with 3:16 remaining, but Evangel went on a 13-0 run to put the game out of reach.
