Eastern Region draw
Quarterfinals (the road team is the No. 2 in each district):
Denbigh at Granby, 4 Monday Ocean Lakes at Oscar Smith, 4 Tuesday Maury at Menchville, 1:30 Monday Western Branch at Cox, 3 Tuesday Granby edged Denbigh 5-4 in bitter cold during the regular season. Cox is the two-time defending state champion and is favored to win the regional again, but probably won't be favored at state. It's different to see Oscar Smith in this group. I'm used to seeing Great Bridge or Hickory alongside Western Branch. If Menchville gets to Cox, I'm curious to see if the Monarchs' lower half can be competitive.
